There’s a new reason to head down to the Redondo Beach waterfront, and yes, it involves sushi. South Bay Sushi Club has joined the lineup at Scholb On The Water, bringing fresh sushi, omakase, and a chef-driven menu to the International Boardwalk.
Located at 160 International Boardwalk, South Bay Sushi Club is serving sushi alongside Scholb’s local beer and waterfront setting. The pop-up currently operates Friday through Sunday, giving South Bay locals an easy new option for a weekend sushi stop with a view.

Sushi With a Side of Ocean Views
The setting is a big part of the experience. Rather than heading into a traditional sushi restaurant, South Bay Sushi Club has a window at Scholb On The Water, where you can enjoy your sushi with boats, marina views, and the laid-back energy of the Redondo Beach Pier.
Scholb’s waterfront location is already known for locally brewed beer, live entertainment, and its harbor-side atmosphere. Now, sushi is part of the weekend lineup, creating an easy pairing of fresh fish and a cold drink by the water.

Start With the Yellowtail Carpaccio
One of the dishes featured by South Bay Sushi Club is the Yellowtail Carpaccio, with thinly sliced yellowtail presented with fresh toppings and a mix of textures and flavors.
It’s the kind of dish that makes sense for the setting: fresh, light, and easy to share before moving on to the sushi. The menu also includes a variety of sushi options, with the club showcasing more than 20 different styles.
Try the Omakase
For anyone who likes letting the chef take the lead, South Bay Sushi Club also offers an omakase-style selection. The chefs highlight an assortment of beautifully prepared nigiri, featuring different cuts and toppings arranged together as a colorful tasting.
The current menu has also been reported to include a six-course omakase featuring selections such as otoro and truffle salmon.
Whether you’re already an omakase regular or just want to try something beyond your usual California roll order, it’s a fun way to experience the menu and let the chef decide what lands on your plate.

Pair Your Sushi With a Local Beer
Since South Bay Sushi Club is located inside Scholb’s, you can easily pair your sushi with one of Scholb’s beers. The menu also features sake and wine, including options like Junmai Ginjo and Sayuri Nigori, giving you plenty of choices depending on what you’re in the mood for.
And if sushi and beer weren’t already enough of a weekend plan, Scholb’s schedule adds another reason to stick around. The waterfront spot features different entertainment throughout the weekend, including karaoke on Fridays and live music on Saturdays and Sundays.

A New Weekend Stop for South Bay Sushi Fans
South Bay Sushi Club adds another option to the South Bay’s growing sushi scene, but its waterfront location gives it a distinctly different feel. Come for the sushi, grab a drink, stay for the marina views, and make an afternoon or evening out of it.
