South Bay Bites We Can’t Stop Thinking About Right Now
Some meals are good, and then there are the ones that stick with you long after the last bite. They’re the dishes you find yourself recommending to friends, craving on a random Tuesday, or planning an entire outing around.
The South Bay is full of incredible restaurants, but these are the menu items that have earned permanent spots on our “can’t stop thinking about them” list. Whether you’re looking for your next lunch, dinner, or sweet treat, these are worth adding to your foodie bucket list.
A Tropical Poke Bowl Served in a Coconut
If you’re looking for something that feels like a mini vacation, this coconut poke bowl at Flying Fin Sushi delivers. Fresh poke is beautifully presented inside a real coconut shell and comes with a chilled shot of fresh coconut water on the side. It’s refreshing, colorful, and one of the most unique presentations you’ll find in the South Bay.
The Chicken Khao Soi at Jeeb Thai Eatery
Jeeb Thai Eatery has quickly become one of our favorite spots for organic Thai food, and the Chicken Khao Soi is the dish we keep ordering. The bowl includes chicken and coconut curry noodles that are topped with egg noodles, herbs, and fried chili. Rich, creamy, comforting, and layered with warming spices, it’s the kind of bowl you’ll be thinking about long after you’ve finished every last spoonful.
Jaime Taqueria’s Birria Breakfast Burrito
Breakfast burritos are serious business in Southern California, and Jaime Taqueria has one that’s hard to beat. Their birria breakfast burrito hits all the right notes with crispy tater tots, scrambled eggs, artisan cheese, avocado, and queso fresco wrapped in a handmade flour tortilla. This is absolutely a must-try!
Vista’s Charred Watermelon Salad
Summer practically lives on this plate. Vista’s charred watermelon salad pairs smoky, sweet watermelon with creamy burrata, Thai basil, macadamia nuts, and pomegranate vinaigrette for a combination that’s both refreshing and indulgent. Add one of the best ocean views in town, and you’ve got an unforgettable lunch or sunset dinner.
Bay Scallops at The Majestic
The family behind The Majestic has spent more than a century in the restaurant business, and that experience shines through in every detail. One appetizer we’re especially loving right now is the bay scallops topped with ponzu and fresh tangerine. Bright, delicate, and incredibly fresh, it’s a perfect way to start your meal.
Loaded Hummus at Savoria Mélange Bistro
The loaded hummus at Savoria Mélange Bistro can be topped with either ribeye or chicken, creating a hearty, satisfying plate that feels just as appropriate for lunch or dinner. Creamy, flavorful, and generously portioned, it’s one of those dishes you’ll want all to yourself.

Sweet Potato Fries…with Whipped Cream?
Hear us out.
LA Ale Works serves sweet potato fries alongside whipped cream, and somehow it works perfectly. Think of it as sweet potato pie in fry form. The salty-sweet combination is unexpected, fun, and one of those menu items you’ll end up telling everyone about.
The Soft Serve Sundae Everyone Is Talking About
By now you’ve probably seen Coucou’s soft serve all over social media, and yes, it lives up to the hype.
Made with Straus Family Creamery organic soft serve, it’s topped with a crisp chocolate hard shell, crunchy almonds, and classic Luxardo cherries. It’s nostalgic, beautifully made, and easily one of our favorite desserts in the South Bay.
